The mercantile heart of Tokyo since the Edo period, Nihonbashi has been Japan's commercial zero-point for four centuries — the bridge at its center is the origin from which all road distances in Japan were historically measured. Today it blends century-old specialist purveyors and major department stores with a refined contemporary dining scene and some of Tokyo's most storied financial institutions.
